Product Overview
KYN61 metal-clad withdrawable switchgear is designed for indoor 35 kV power distribution systems, with an equipment rated voltage of 40.5 kV. It provides switching, control, protection and monitoring for incoming supplies, outgoing feeders and transformer circuits in substations, industrial facilities and renewable energy projects.
A withdrawable vacuum circuit breaker supports testing and servicing, while separate busbar, circuit-breaker, cable and low-voltage compartments provide an organized internal arrangement. Rated current options of 1,250 A, 1,600 A and 2,000 A allow equipment selection around project loads, with cabinet functions and protection schemes configured to suit the approved distribution design.

Product Advantages
Designed for 35 kV Distribution Applications
With a rated voltage of 40.5 kV, KYN61 supports suitable 35 kV distribution circuits. Its specified power-frequency and lightning impulse withstand levels provide reference values for insulation selection alongside the project’s operating and site conditions.
Withdrawable Circuit Breaker for Planned Maintenance
The vacuum circuit breaker is mounted on a withdrawable truck, allowing movement between defined operating and test or disconnected positions. This arrangement supports functional testing and removal for servicing after the required isolation and safety procedures have been completed.
Separate Compartments for Organized Access
Dedicated busbar, circuit-breaker, cable and low-voltage compartments separate the main functional areas. Protection relays, instruments and control devices are arranged in the low-voltage compartment, supporting clear secondary wiring and convenient routine inspection.
Interlocks to Support Correct Operation
Mechanical and electrical interlocks help control the operating sequence between the circuit breaker, withdrawable truck and earthing equipment. The final interlocking scheme is selected to help prevent incompatible operations and is confirmed during project design.
Flexible Cabinet Functions
Incoming feeders, outgoing feeders, bus-section, metering and voltage-transformer functions can be incorporated into the lineup according to the approved single-line diagram. Transformer-feeder arrangements can also be specified to suit the distribution system.
Layout Planning for Installation and Expansion
Cabinet sections can be arranged to suit the required circuit quantities and switchroom layout. Cable access, maintenance clearances, equipment handling routes and potential future extensions can be considered during the design stage.
Typical Applications

Regional and Utility Substations
Incoming supply, transformer-feeder and bus-section circuits in suitable 35 kV substations. Metering and voltage-transformer panels can be included according to the station design.
Large Industrial Facilities
Power reception and distribution for steelworks, metallurgical plants, chemical parks and other facilities supplied at 35 kV. Transformer feeders connect to downstream transformers serving the plant’s distribution network.
Wind and Solar Power Projects
Switching and protection for suitable 35 kV collector circuits and substation feeders. Equipment selection takes account of the project’s current ratings, fault levels and protection requirements.
Transport and Major Infrastructure
35 kV distribution in railway and metro power facilities, ports, airports and water infrastructure, where the system ratings and installation conditions match the selected assembly.
Large Data Centre Power Systems
Incoming and transformer-feeder distribution for facilities using a 35 kV supply. Supply continuity is determined by the overall system architecture, including redundancy, backup power and protection coordination.
